How Xave Picks reviews products
Xave Picks exists to answer one practical question: is this trending product still worth buying after the hype wears off? This page explains how products are selected, tested, scored, and linked.
What gets reviewed
I focus on products that shoppers are already seeing on TikTok Shop, Amazon US, or short-form product videos: tech accessories, home tools, beauty devices, fitness gear, pet products, and small everyday upgrades. A product does not get a full review just because it has a good commission rate or a popular listing.
The first filter is usefulness. If I cannot explain who the product is for, why it might be better than a cheaper alternative, and what type of buyer should skip it, it does not belong in the main review archive.
Hands-on testing
The baseline is at least one week of real use before a review is published. Some products need longer: skincare tools are tracked across several weeks, earbuds are used through commutes and calls, and kitchen products are tested through repeated cleaning and charging cycles. The goal is to catch the details that are invisible in a product listing.
- Setup: how long it takes before the product is actually usable.
- Daily friction: charging, cleaning, comfort, storage, and noise.
- Durability signs: loose parts, scratches, weak seals, or battery drop-off.
- Value: whether the benefits still make sense at the usual price range.
- Return risk: what would make a buyer regret the purchase.
How scores are decided
Ratings are not just first impressions. A high score means the product performed well for its price, had manageable tradeoffs, and solved a real problem for the right buyer. A lower score does not always mean the product is bad; it may mean the use case is narrow or the listing overpromises.
The Worth It Score shown on review pages combines the rating with practical context: price range, repeated-use performance, major downsides, and how easy it is to recommend without adding a long list of warnings.
